Academic personnel undergo syllabi, IMs workshop
As Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) moves on with flexible learning for Academic Year 2021-2022, the Office of the Director for Instruction organized a syllabi and instructional materials (IMs) review and enhancement workshop on August 23-24, 2021 via Google Meet.
At least 80 part-time lecturers and regular faculty members from Institute of Graduate and Professional Education (IGPE); Institute of Agriculture and Related Sciences (IARS); Institute of Business, Entrepreneurship and Governance (IBEG); Institute of Computing, Engineering and Technology (ICET); and Institute of Teacher Education, Arts, and Sciences (IARS) participated in the said virtual workshop.
Dr. Siverlyn M. Camposano, Director for Instruction emphasized the importance of contextualizing syllabi and instructional materials (IMs) in the time of pandemic. She also encouraged the participants to be more considerate of the well-being of students in facilitating learning off-campus.
On the first day of the virtual workshop, Prof. Cecile C. Lofranco, Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Person discussed GAD integration in the syllabi, while Dr. Camposano facilitated the syllabi review. Moreover, Dr. Cindy B. Rosil, ITEAS Dean facilitated the workshop on writing the syllabus.
On the second day of the workshop, Dr. Cherry Ann P. Roxas, IBEG Dean headed the review of IMs, while Dr. Amelie T. Bello , IGPE Dean facilitated the workshop on writing IMs.
Institute deans together with their respective department heads and faculty members presented their workshop output such as syllabi and course packs which will be implemented in the first semester of AY 2021-2022.
In her closing message, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President announced the implementation of Learning Management System (LMS) 2.0 developed by the DSSC Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC). She also challenged all participants to do better and be better in teaching their students using the enhanced syllabi and IMs. (RW/DSSC-PAO)
