DSSC inks MoU with American university
Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) and Kansas State University (KSU) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cultural, educational, and research cooperation.
KSU is a comprehensive, research, land-grant higher education institution located in Manhattan, Kansas.
In a virtual MoU signing on August 24, 2021, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes, DSSC President and Richard B. Meyers, KSU President talked about the general areas of interest and cooperation stipulated in the MOU.
The said MoU was submitted by DSSC to the International Affairs Staff of Commission on Higher Education (CHED-IAS) and was approved in February 2021
Under the MoU, DSSC and KSU agreed the exchange of scholars and scientists to conduct research of mutual interest; and exchange of professors for lectures and short-term visits. The two educational institutions also agreed that scholars from DSSC and KSU shall be invited for participation in conferences, symposia and instruction; and exchange of information, academic materials and publications in fields of mutual interest.
“DSSC is grateful to KSU for giving this opportunity to participate and serve the community by providing academic and professional services through this collaboration. Through this MoU, we hope that we can influence not only our constituents but also impart science-based knowledge and help our local and international farmers the importance of Conservative Agriculture for Sustainable Intensification,” Dr. Fuentes said in her message during the virtual MoU signing.
The virtual MoU signing was also attended by other Philippine HEIs that have separate MoU with KSU. (RW/DSSC-PAO)
