Through the initiative of the college librarian Ms. Rosedella Janson, Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) hosted the Memorandum of Agreement signing between DSSC and Davao del Sur’s Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), for a partnership program through the establishment of a Knowledge Management Hub Satellite, on May 17, 2023, at the DSSC Library.

The project aims to increase the collaboration between parties involved in delivering better library services and access to local government information in print and electronic formats for the local community, not only the students of DSSC but also the public.

This ceremonial MoA signing will formalize the connection between both parties and set and clear structure for collaboration, guaranteeing commitments in achieving the program’s goals.

MPA, and DILG Officer-in-Charge, Cluster Head Mario S. Baldos, JD., DSSC President, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes stated “We are so grateful that DILG Provincial Office partnered [with] us. . .the college is identified by the agency [DILG}, particularly at the provincial level, to establish and provide resource materials for everyone. . .”

In an interview with DSSC-SAR (Smart Agri-Radio), Basilgo stated the importance of such collaboration with academic institutions such as DSSC, and their office “The partnership is very crucial. . . in order for us to reach our larger community and our stakeholders. DSSC hopes that this new pool of resources will be able to help guide students especially under the Bachelor of Public Administration and produce the latest networked information from all over the country and worldwide, and into a more accessible location.
