DSSC  Agribusiness Students receive recognition for Young Farmers Challenge 2023



Congratulations to Kathleen Jane Z. Marques and Fevelyn R. Ecot with team members, Agribusiness students of Davao del Sur State College for their remarkable victories as awardees of the Young Farmers Challenge Program 2023 guided by their mentors: Prof. Rhoda M. Hilis and Prof. Wilmar Labanon.


Marques and Ecot together with the College President of DSSC, Dr. Augie E. Fuentes attended the Young Farmers Challenge Kick Off, National Awarding Ceremony for being the Regional Awardees with their project: Reef to Leaf: Value Addition and Application of Seaweed-based liquid Biostimulant from Dugong and another project: Banana Peel Briquettes on June 6, 2024 at the Rice Biotechnology Center, Philrice, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.


Aside from aforementioned kick-off and awarding ceremony, the Department of Agriculture through the Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Service will also organize a Business Technical Innovation Study as part of the Business Development Services to be provided to the YFC awardees.


This significant achievement is poised to catalyze advancements and innovations, propelling their agri-enterprises to unprecedented heights. It marks a transformative leap, elevating their skills and intellect to new echelons.
