Davao del Sur State College community congratulates Dr. Sheruel Matalandang for his remarkable achievement in winning the 𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝘼𝘽𝙎𝙏𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙏 𝘼𝙒𝘼𝙍𝘿 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙎𝙏 𝙋𝙇𝘼𝘾𝙀 𝘽𝙀𝙎𝙏 𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙃 𝙋𝘼𝙋𝙀𝙍 𝘼𝙒𝘼𝙍𝘿 in his research paper entitled “ 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙥𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙊𝘾𝙆𝙎𝘼𝙍𝙂𝙀𝙉” during the 1st International Research Conference on Education 2024 with the theme “ Engaging in Transformational Research towards Global Competitiveness” held virtually on July 28, 2024 and 5th International Conference on Methodological Advances in Research held on September 17-20,2024 with the theme “ From insight to Action: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through Methodological Advances in Research” respectively.

Researchers, educators and thought leaders from around the world came to share their insight on innovations in education at the conference. The paper of Dr. Matalandang on the importance of indigenous knowledge for sustainable development fits well in the idea of the conference for accommodating innovative practices toward world-class competitiveness.

Aside from portraying the varied cultural tapestry of SOCKSARGEN, his works depict the necessity of blending traditional methods with modern development schemes. Praise for this recognition goes to the hard work of Dr. Matalandang in combining research and his passion for bringing indigenous voices to inform the pathways toward sustainable futures.
