The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) logo has been granted trademark registration with number 4/2023/00508395 by the Intellectual Property Office of The Philippines (IPOPHIL) last August 19, 2023. As such, the DSSC Research and Innovation Office underscores that the utilization of the DSSC logo for commercial or personal purposes without prior authorization is absolutely prohibited.

To protect the brand identity and exclusive rights, the institution must grant prior permission or license for any commercial or personal use of the logo. The purpose of this approach is to ensure protection against unauthorized use or commercial exploitation of the logo.

As stipulated in the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA8293), individuals found culpable of unauthorized use of the DSSC logo may be subject to criminal penalties, which include two (2) to five (5) years of imprisonment and a fine of between Php 50,000.00 and Php 200,000.00.

This advisory serves as a robust communication tool to educate and inform our stakeholders about the proper use of the DSSC logo and the consequences of non-compliance.
