Gender and Development
The Davao del Sur State College is committed to the promotion and integration of gender equality, and inclusivity in all aspects of institutional governance, instruction, research , extension, and administration. Guided by the principles of human rights, social justice, and sustainable development, the College actively works to eliminate gender-based discrimination and empower all individuals, regardless of gender. to fully participate in and benefit from the institution's programs and services.
Specifically, the College's GAD thrust seeks to:
1. Mainstream Gender perspective in policies, curricula, programs, and services to ensure a gender-responsive learning and working environment.
2. Empower women and marginalized sectors by providing equal access to education, leadership opportunities, and capacity-building programs
3. Promote awareness and sensitivity on gender issues through advocacy, training, and the celebration of gender-related milestone and campaigns
4. Establish and strengthen institutional mechanisms such as the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate GAD initiatives effectively
5. Ensure the allocation and utilization of GAD funds in accordance with national mandates and institutional priorities for gender equality and women's empowerment
Through this efforts, Davao del Sur State College envisions itself as a model; of gender-responsive and transformative education that natures inclusive growth, respectful dialogue, and equal opportunities for all.
