#QAinAction| DSSC QUALITY ASSURANCE TEAM STRENGHTENS ACCREDITATION SKILLS IN AACCUP OBQA TRAINING
Manila, Philippines - The Quality Assurance Team headed by Ms Roayda Hasim of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) attended the AACCUP Seminar-Workshop on Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance held on July 9–11, 2025, at Century Park Hotel, Manila. Organized by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., the seminar aimed to provide orientation and training to new accreditors, internal QA staff, and non-academic personnel from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) nationwide. The three-day activity featured sessions on accreditation principles, OBQA frameworks, documentation practices, and ethical responsibilities. Highlights included discussions by Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, Dr. Raul F. Muyong, and CHED Commissioner Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, who emphasized the importance of continuous quality improvement. “Outcomes-based quality assurance is not just a requirement—it is a responsibility to raise the standard of education for every Filipino learner,” Dr. Agrupis said. Participants also engaged in group workshops focusing on action planning, institutional profiling, and the roles of internal QA teams in accreditation. The outputs were presented and discussed in an open forum, allowing for shared insights and collaborative learning. The DSSC QA team expressed appreciation for the opportunity to join the seminar, noting the relevance of the topics in strengthening the institution’s quality assurance system.

#QAinAction| GRADUATE PROGRAMS GEAR UP FOR LEVEL III ACCREDITATION, FACULTY MEMBERS TAKE PART IN INTENSIVE SEMINAR-WORKSHOP Digos City, Davao del Sur — On February 28, 2024, the Quality Assurance Office conducted an orientation and seminar-workshop for Level III AACCUP Accreditation along with the faculty and staff from the Institute of Graduate and Professional Education (IGPE). The event focused on strengthening readiness of Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management, Language Teaching, Mathematics Teaching, and Science Teaching programs for the upcoming level III accreditation survey in December 2025. The session begun with an opening remarks from Dr. Harih Lopez, Dean of IGPE, who encourage faculty and staff to earnestly focus and actively participate in the session as well as the overall accreditation process.
Following the opening remarks, Ms. Roayda Hasim, the QA Head, led the orientation on AACCUP Level III Guidelines, providing an in-depth explanation of the accreditation requirements. She also presented sample documents essential for the narrative reports, guiding faculty members on proper documentation and compliance.
Results of recommendations from the previous accreditation visit were presented, thereafter, by Dr. Amelie Trinidad, the Director for Instruction. She outlined previous findings and highlighted areas that need improvement, thereby, setting the foundation for the workshop discussions that followed.
The key part of the session, building on the recommendations, participants took part in an interactive workshop. Through a group discussion, the recommendations from last survey visit were addressed, followed by the writing of compliance report to be submitted to AACCUP on the third quarter of 2025. Furthermore, additional faculty members were included as part of the accreditation survey, and specific submission dates for requirements were finalized to help ensure a successful accreditation.
With a clearer understanding of the accreditation process, actionable steps for compliance, and a renewed commitment to maintaining high educational standards, the event marked a significant step forward in ensuring that the MBA and MAED programs are well-prepared for the Level 3 AACCUP Accreditation in December 2025.
