𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 (𝐃𝐒𝐒𝐂) proudly made its mark on the global stage as it participated in the highly esteemed 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐇 𝐍𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚 2025, an international virtual program hosted by 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐡 𝐍𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 (𝐈𝐓𝐒) in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 7 to 18, 2025, via Zoom.
With this year’s compelling theme, “𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒂 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒔,” the program brought together more than 100 participants from across the globe, creating a vibrant platform for intercultural learning and global collaboration. Participants explored the linguistic richness and cultural heritage of Indonesia’s diverse regions including 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐢, 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚, 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐚, 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚, 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐤𝐮, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐚.
Representing DSSC with excellence and pride were three brilliant students: 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐂 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐡𝐨𝐧 (𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐨 (𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬), 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. Joining them is 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐫𝐲 𝐀. 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐛𝐨, faculty member from the Institute of Agriculture and Related Sciences, who will serve as the official Supervising Faculty. His presence ensures proper academic guidance and mentorship as DSSC continues to promote international exposure and meaningful student engagement.

Today, July 23, 2025, 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 (𝐃𝐒𝐒𝐂), through its 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐎), successfully conducted the training-seminar entitled “𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃’𝐬 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬,” with the theme “𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝑺𝑺𝑪 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒚-𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆.”
This timely and essential initiative aimed to equip DSSC faculty members, academic program heads, and deans with a clear understanding of the key provisions under 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 03, 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 2025, 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 77, 𝐬. 2019, which outlines the protocols for securing authority to travel abroad for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
The session featured two esteemed speakers, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐉. 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, who delivered the rationale and objectives of the workshop, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐮 𝐏𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐚, 𝐂𝐏𝐀, 𝐌𝐌, who provided a comprehensive discussion on the updated CHED travel guidelines. Their insights shed light on the procedural, documentary, and ethical standards of international travel, covering justification requirements, approval workflows, funding mechanisms, and post-travel obligations.
Designed to promote responsible internationalization, participants left the session with a sharper understanding of how to initiate compliant travel proposals, secure approvals, and document impact, ensuring that every global move is guided by purpose, transparency, and policy alignment.
