OVERVIEW
THE COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION
Welcome to the College of Teacher Education (CTEd), nurturing hub for aspiring educators who are passionate about teaching and committed to shaping the future. At CTEd, we believe that teaching is more than a profession; it’s a calling. We guide the pre-service teachers through dynamic learning experiences, grounded in innovation, critical thinking, and values that reflect the heart of Filipino education.
As one of the six academic pillars of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), alongside the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences, College of Business Education and Governance, College of Computing, Engineering and Technology, College of Mathematics, Arts and Sciences, and College of Graduate and Professional Education, CTEd stands out in its mission to develop future educators who are innovative, value-driven, and socially responsive.
Here, we don’t just prepare students to enter classrooms; we prepare them to lead, inspire, and make a difference. From community engagement to academic excellence, CTEd empowers every pre-service teacher to become a catalyst for positive change. Whether in local schools or global classrooms, our graduates carry with them the spirit of service, the power of knowledge, and the confidence to teach with purpose. Sa CTEd, lamang ka! |
LOGO
THE COLLEGE OF TEACHER EDUCATION LOGO
Our logo is the reflection of our mission!
The Burning Torch It symbolizes the eternal flame of knowledge and the light education brings to its students, regardless of their differences. This light radiates outward, reflecting CTEd's mission to serve and reach various stakeholders through instruction, research, extension, production, and innovation.
The Laurel Wreath It symbolizes triumph and eternal glory. It reflects CTEd's legacy of excellence, as demonstrated by the top-notchers we have proudly produced in the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in recent years. It also honors the recognition of our faculty members for their contributions to instruction, research, extension, and production. Recently, the Commission on Higher Education awarded the Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE), a testament to our unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards in Pre-Service Teacher Education. This wreath represents our lifelong dedication to equipping Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs) with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed in their future careers.
The Open Book It symbolizes lifelong learning and the continuous acquisition of knowledge. It represents the enriching teaching and learning experiences that CTEd strives to provide for both faculty members and students alike.
The Four Stars They represent CTEd's excellence in the four core functions of the college: instruction, research, extension, and production. These stars also highlight our unwavering commitment to serving our stakeholders through these foundational pillars.
The Rope that Encloses the CTEd Logo It signifies strength and unity among our personnel and all those we serve. It echoes one of DSSC's core values: teamwork. Hence, basta CTEd, united! |
TAGLINE
Our tagline, SA CTEd, LAMANG KA!, captures the spirit of our college and aligns with DSSC's brand: Shaping Futures Beyond Borders. Rooted in the principles of the CTEd's Educ8 Framework, this guiding philosophy serves as our compass, shaping our mission, directing our goals, and defining the qualities that educators need to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape. The phrase lamang ka, a powerful expression in Filipino, embodies the excellence, readiness, and edge we strive to cultivate in every future educator.
These guiding principles are not just abstract ideas; they are the driving force behind everything we do. At CTEd, we ensure that every educator’s future is shaped beyond borders. We mold educators who are not only capable but visionary, leading the charge for educational excellence on a global scale. |

NEWS
K A S I K A S
Sa CTEd, Lamang Ka! The Institute of Teacher Education is absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of its official newsletter, KASIKAS.
Anchored from the Visayan word "kasikas," which evokes the idea of quiet movements, subtle stirrings, and whispered undertones, our debut issue, "Hand-in-Hand: Dawning of Excellence and Service" embodies CTEd's mission to give voice to the often-unseen and unheard within the walls of the Institute.
This first issue is more than just a publication; it is a testimony of unity, shared purpose, and the collective pulse of the CTEd family. Through these pages, we aim to bring to life the stories of excellence and service that may have quietly unfolded in classrooms, offices, and hallways, yet deserve to be celebrated and remembered. By highlighting these moments, KASIKAS becomes not just a still record, but a movement, one that connects students, teachers, and faculty members in the dawning of a new chapter where every murmur is heard, every step is honored, and every voice, no matter how soft, is part of the greater symphony of progress.
Like ripples on still water, every effort, no matter how small, creates waves of change. Hand-in-Hand, we will strive to listen deeply, observe keenly, and shed light on these gentle yet powerful forces shaping our community. We invite you to explore its contents for a deeper understanding of the scholarly pursuits and intellectual endeavors that define our academic community.
