Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) participated through its Regional Coffee Innovation Center (RCIC) to the Davao del Sur Coffee Fiesta 2025, a 3-day celebration of the province’s rich coffee heritage, culture, and innovation at The Atrium, Gmall of Digos, Digos City on September 29 to October 1, 2025, with the theme, “Coffee Excellence: Perfect Blend of Nature, Culture, and Innovation.”

DSSC, as the province’s academic and innovation research center, participated due to the Coffee Fiesta’s mission of empowering local farmers with sustainable coffee growing, and celebrating the artistry behind the cup. The College understands the role of coffee as an important agricultural product, emblem of culture, and an engine of economic growth to Davao del Sur.

During the fiesta, Champs and their Coffee, and talks on regenerative agriculture and innovation and the Brewing and Latte Art Competitions. DSSC’s Musikeros will also entertain the community with their own compositions and live music performances. Free coffee will be served as a tribute to the International World Coffee Day celebration, as well as to reward the high school students Consumer Welfare Month Quiz Bee attendees.

For DSSC, this is a wonderful chance to highlight the importance of the Integration of Science, Technology, and Education in the coffee industry. The College’s RCIC continues collaborating with industry players on coffee quality, production, and marketing to guarantee Davao del Sur coffee remains strategically positioned in the local and international market.

With participation in the Davao del Sur Coffee Fiesta, DSSC upholds its advocacy on innovative community and cultural pride development. They are known for their coffee as well as for meaningful development towards a more sustainable future, not just for the farmers but the entire province as well.
